Make Time for a Brain Break!

What’s a Brain Break? It’s a short break from whatever work you’re doing to give your mind a chance to stretch and refocus. Just a few minutes away from a task can help reduce frustration, especially when faced with a challenging assignment. Being able to return to a problem and solve it also helps learners of every age build confidence and stay engaged.

The Improv Project is offering free 15-minute brain breaks for youth. Join a pair of our teaching artists in improv games that get students moving and connecting with peers in a fun, creative way. Individual sessions are available for students in Grades 1-5 learning remotely. For teachers in Grades 1-8, we can also stream into your classroom! The sessions take place online every Wednesday at 12:15-12:30p and 12:45-1p ET. You can sign up through the calendar below (listings are given for your time zone).

Looking for a self-guided Brain Break? The lesson pages offer video examples and written instructions for games to play.
